A British pub in Twickenham

Our gorgeous riverside pub is tucked away on the banks of the Thames in Strawberry Hill, just a short stroll from Twickenham. With its fresh, stylish décor, roaring fire and a warm, friendly vibe, it’s the perfect pit stop after a leafy Autumnal wander. Whether you’re after a crisp pint, a Winter cocktail, or a well-earned lass of red (make ours a large), you’ll be blooming glad you popped in.

You’ll love our food too. Our Head Chef is a master of the grill, and whips up a seasonally changing menu, jam-packed with classic pub dishes, – oh, and we do a banging Sunday roast (oh, yes). On Rugby days, we have our trusty Burger Shack in our pub garden, slinging out the tastiest burgers in Twickers – plus some saucy side dishes too.

Our 32 bedrooms – some dog-friendly and many perfect for families – plus onsite parking, makes our rooms the smart choice for your next business trip or weekend getaway.

Winter’s here, and it’s officially comfort food season. So shake off the cold, pull up a chair and let us do the warming up with our Winter Set Menu. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill winter dishes. We’re talking hearty British classics, big, bold flavours and all the cosy, feel-good plates you’ve been craving when the temperature drops.

Birthday Celebration

Chose this place as it’s was recommended by other friends and we went for cocktails and sharers after work on Friday. A perfect location and you can even sit outside in the front garden. We sat in the atrium and had table service which was excellent. Good size portions and nice ciders. Hope to make it a regular monthly stop.

Charming, clean and comfortable with gracious and attentive staff. The shower was fabulous. Bus stop right outside, lovely river walk in the park along the Thames opposite this hotel. Train station just a few minutes walk. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Internet was a bit spotty but everything else was great.

The Pope felt like the best place to be for a chill afternoon with friends. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.  Great outside space with comfy seating. Me and my friends had a bottle of the New Zealand sauvignon blanc and sharing boards which was very nice.  Also a great place to go on a friday night as they have live music.

Great staff, Great Food

Our first visit to this restaurant. Lovely situation near the river. Very easy to park. Extremely helpful waiting staff. Companions had hake (which apparently was landed in the northeast Atlantic). My choice was cod and chips (arguably best I’ve ever eaten). Companions finished with a shared apple and rhubarb crumble (probably enough for three people). What’s not to like about this place? Give it a go!

Perfect venue for a wedding reception

We held our wedding reception at this pub and it was amazing! They took care of us through the whole process and the day went perfectly. All our guests commented how lovely of an atmosphere the staff created and no one was ever waiting for a drink / food! The most perfect day at the most perfect venue!!

Very spacious and friendly pub. It’s in a beautiful location by the river, and has plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor. I haven’t eaten here (only had drinks) but the menu looks good. Staff were friendly and toilets were clean.

Enjoyed every minute of my stay here. Lovely room with balcony and large comfy bed.
The bar was very atmospheric with fun and friendly staff. I ate a delicious full English breakfast sitting in the Atrium enjoying the sunshine. Have already booked my next stay !

Two Weeks Holliday

Me and my wife spent two weeks at Alexander Pope culminating with Italy playing England at Twickenham stadium.  Apart from the results of the game everything was extraordinary for us. We had a clean and well furnished room, the staff were courteous and very attentive to us during our time here and were very pleased with the level of service we received.

We had breakfast here every morning and dinner on several occasions.  The food was full of flavor and very tasty. Overall this little hotel worked very well for our holiday and we know we will visit again.
